Good Friday at Kingsway Fish & Chips
Snap Etobicoke

More than 4,000 customers made the traditional journey to Kingsway Fish & Chips on Good Friday to enjoy their outstanding halibut fish, among other delicacies. The day began early for the popular restaurant crew as approximately 4,000 lbs of fresh potatoes needed to be peeled and chipped, and more than 2,500 lbs of west coast halibut needed to be skinned, deboned and then hand-cut into 100-gram portions in preparation for the yearly rush. Their signature lobster bisque along with homemade seafood chowder were also specially prepared for the big day. The line-ups started early in the afternoon and lasted until close, stretching from the front counter outside to the sidewalk. We stayed and enjoyed a dinner ourselves and can honestly tell you that it was well worth the wait.
